Process Mining as an accelerator for the pre-study in the SAP S/4HANA implementation
Scheer offers extensive experience in setting up and executing Brownfield, BLUEFIELDTM, and Greenfield migrations. Since data is one of the key drivers of intelligent business operations alongside processes, migrating and building data into the new SAP S/4HANA cloud environment is essential. Therefore, to determine the best approach, a preliminary study may be useful to mitigate risk. This pre-study applies a specific approach consisting of different phases of the system and process analysis. The result is a defined migration scope, documentation, a project plan, and an overview of the IT capabilities and processes to be migrated. At the end, a recommendation for the specific migration project plan (Brownfield, BLUEFIELDTM and Greenfield) is presented.
How can process mining accelerate the pre-study?
Process mining is a technology for visualizing and analysis processes. It makes processes measurable to identify specific areas for improvement at the operational level. The essential element of process mining is the system's operation data. Thereby, processes are mapped realistically, for example by tracing documents or status information of business objects through different tables. This enables companies to start the SAP S/4HANA migration with a realistic view of their business processes in terms of volumes and variance.
