With "humboldt gemeinsam" to maintain excellence on the road to SAP SAP S/4HANA
By implementing SAP as an integrated standard software solution, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin plans to optimize its administrative processes to support its scientific excellence. Both central administration and the individual faculties see the need to optimize the administration of cross-departmental processes, simplify the provisioning of control-relevant information and data, and improve data quality.
Unique scope of SAP services to digitalize administration and faculties at HU Berlin
By 2023, the university and its implementation partner Scheer will create a standardized, integrated SAP landscape for the administration of finances, personnel, and facilities, as well as for procurement and reporting. The first big step has already been taken: HU Berlin began productive use of the new SAP landscape in January 2021
With more than 30 years of experience with SAP solutions, Scheer is the ideal partner for the digital transformation of educational and research institutions. As a leading full-service provider for SAP-based resource management, campus management, and learning management, Scheer supports higher education and research processes from design to realization and operation – as a one-stop shop.
In the SAP project “humboldt gemeinsam”, the processes of the university’s administration and faculties are being digitalized, with the aim of increasing data security and quality, creating faster and – above all – more transparent process flows, and improving controllability.
Employees can improve the quality of their work and their efficiency. This leads to greater work satisfaction – not only among administration employees, but also in the research area, which is supported by lean, service-centric administration processes.
In sum, HU Berlin benefits from the following improvements:
- Structuring and simplification of the administration of cross-departmental processes
- Standardized, transparent processes
- Time savings in process handling
- Simplified provisioning of control-relevant information and data
- Improvement in data quality through the integration of data from different areas
- Avoidance of multiple entry of data and unnecessary media disruptions
